Pets are Lifesavers (P.A.L.S.)
Pets provide many things for seniors — a sense of well-being, encouragement, even a reason to keep going! HAWS has partnered with the Aging & Disability Resource Center of Waukesha County (ADRC) to bring assistance to seniors, their pets and caregivers. But seniors or their caregivers at times, require assistance in retaining their companion animals.
Services Available
Safe Keep Program — offering temporary kenneling at HAWS for a pet if an individual requires emergency hosp
italization or rehabilitation due to an illness or injury.
Affordable Pet Adoptions — offering special rates for senior adopting an adult pet.
Education and Counseling — ensuring senior are matched with the appropriate
companion pet and providing resources for pet care questions.
Planning Assistance — for the future of the companion pet.
